Barely twenty minutes in the air to Giengen, home of Steiff and a museum that is essentially a zoo rendered entirely in plush — a life-sized elephant, a polar bear, a tiger, the lot. Emiliana flew down with me; Isabella and Torvina drove over to join us, and Torvina spent the morning being carried through the menagerie, thoroughly unimpressed by animals several times her size.
