Pizza, a lakeside playground, and two blue tongues to show for it.
Half an hour north to Gunzenhausen, in the Franconian lake district. Emiliana flew up with me; Isabella and Torvina came by car. First a proper Italian pizza in town, and then the real objective — the adventure playground on the lakeshore, all shallow streams to wade through and sand to dig. The bike came out of the back of the Grumman as always, we found a stand selling something violently blue, and both of us walked away with the tongues to prove it. The flight home ran twice as long as the way up, and not for the scenery: we went out of our way to fly through a rain shower, on the sound theory that a free rinse in the air beats washing the aeroplane by hand on the ground.
