Back to the old flat and its secret gummy-bear stash — ten kilometres of cycling, and Spätzle that didn't pass muster.
Forty minutes east to Landshut, back to the flat we used to live in — where, it turns out, the secret gummy-bear stash was exactly where we left it. Emiliana flew over with me. From the airfield it is a good ten kilometres to the old apartment and back, which is precisely the sort of distance where the automatic gearshift on Emiliana’s bike earns its keep — the bike rides in the back of the Grumman for exactly this. The Spätzle in the beer garden were, in the official verdict, nix; the playground, however, was inspected and found acceptable.
